About
Specialty Vetpath

Specialty Vetpath was founded in 2009 by Dr. Jennifer Ward and her husband Rod Vos. They started out by turning their basement into a pathology laboratory, and when they outgrew the home lab model, moved first into a shared space in a local specialty hospital, and then in 2014, to our current location in the Interbay neighborhood of Seattle.

In 2023, our long-time associate Dr. Laura Black became a partner, along with Dr. Chris Reilly (founder and owner of the former Insight Veterinary Specialty Pathology). Specialty Vetpath’s rebranding coincides with the initiation of this new partnership, with a new logo that captures the essence of our relationship-based approach to the practice of pathology. The three circles of our logo represent: 1) the pathology laboratory; 2) the veterinary clinic; and 3) the patient and their family.
